DESCRIPTION

The trail starts at Colonia Suiza, the first part ascends slowly far from the creek, after nearly an hour it descends next to the creek and borders along next to it. There are a few marshy wet areas.

After roughly 3 hs. the trail steepens a little and crosses two creeks, first the “Navidad” and soon after the “Negro or Goye”. From here up the trail takes to switch back gaining elevation rapidly. These are called “caracoles”.

At the top there is an incredible panoramic view of Laguna Negra, Cerro Negro (the highest peak) and the Manfredo Segre Hut also known as “Italia”, which belongs to the Andean Club of Bariloche (CAB)

From this hut you can continue on to the López Hut or continue south on the backpacking trip named “Travesia de las 5 lagunas” (5 lagoons traverse) where the following authorized campsite would be the Cab or Lluvu lagoon, with no services.

To improve the trekking experience, it is recommended to contact a Mountain Guide authorized by the AAGM (Argentine Association of Mountain Guides)
