How to get there

HOW TO GET THERE

From downtown Bariloche:

Bus: Line 10. Get off at the Bahia Lopez lookout and walk to the start of the trail.

SUBE card needed to pay bus fare. Check timetable.

By car: Take the Circuito Chico loop road round to Bahia López, there is a free parking area.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • Respect the instructions of the municipal authorities (Park ranger).
  • Entry hours in summer: between 8 hs. and  22 hs.
  • Check the status of the trails and the weather. On windy days the park remains closed.
  • Walk only on marked trails.
  • Overnight stay is not permitted.
  • Before entering, you must REGISTER at the Llao Llao Municipal Park and PAY AN ADMISSION. It can be done here. There is also a QR at the entrance to the Municipal Park. It is paid through the website (credit or debit card, or in cash through Rapipago or Pago Fácil). For Bariloche residents, retirees and children under 12 years of age the admission is free.
WARNING
  • At the lookout, stay away from the cliffs and watch special attention to children.
  • Do not leave valuables in the car.
  • There are areas that do not have cell reception.
  • Take all your back with you.

DESCRIPTION

The trail starts at the parking area at Bahia López, next to the Alun Nehuen Hotel.

The whole trail goes inside a forest with a gentle climb. After around 40 minutes there is a natural rock outcrop with views of the Tristeza branch of Nahuel Huapi and the Capilla peak.

There are lots of cliff at the lookout so be especially careful with young children.

Take the same trail back as well as all your trash.

To improve the trekking experience, it is recommended to contact a Mountain Guide authorized by the AAGM (Argentine Association of Mountain Guides)
